Nikon 1 V1 review at Camera Labs

Review :
Rather than compete on sensor size and resolution, the Nikon 1 system is designed to be the fastest ILC to date, with decent bursts at 10fps with autofocus, or up to 60fps without. Suffice it to say there's also HD movies with tracking focus, but the V1 can also grab high res images at the same time, so you no longer need to choose between photos and video. I tested the V1 alongside the cheaper J1 and a selection of rivals over an extended period of six weeks and really got to understand each of their pros and cons. Find out which should be top of your list in my Nikon V1 review!

Review :
The Nikon 1 V1 is the company's long-awaited entry into the rapidly growing compact system camera market. Based around the brand new "CX" format sensor, the Nikon V1 is all about speed, with fast auto-focusing and up to 60fps continuous shooting. The V1 also offers an electronic viewfinder, 3 inch LCD screen, full HD video, and a range of innovative modes like Smart Photo Selector and Motion Snapshot Mode. Can the Nikon V1 successfully carry on the long tradition of the company's DSLRs? Read our in-depth Nikon 1 V1 review to find out...

Nikon V1 Review

Review :
Choosing a smaller sensor, the Nikon V1 didn't earn a lot to praise from the spec hounds at its introduction, but Nikon was aiming at a smaller system overall, including lenses. They certainly achieved that, while maintaining excellent image quality and including impressively fast autofocus speed. Though many were disappointed with the smaller sensor, our test results show the Nikon V1's image quality to be quite good for a 10-megapixel sensor, and optical quality is impressive too. Overall, the Nikon V1 makes a great compact system camera that stands up well against the premium pocket cameras it was designed to challenge. Read our Nikon V1 review for all the details!
