The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8G ED is a wide angle, high-aperture telephoto zoom lens. It is compatible with Nikon DX and FX DSLR cameras. The lens has special glass makeup and coating that is designed to reduce glare and ghosting, and retain clarity even on very wide aperture settings. It has a rugged construction designed to keep out moisture and dust. The max zoom is 2.9x, and the camera is best used in any situation that does not require very high zoom levels, such as long distance wildlife photography. As this lens has more elements and is of higher quality, it also is of greater weight than some other lens, weighing almost two pounds.
