Review : THE GOOD: A nice set of shooting-focused features; optical viewfinder and built-in neutral density filter; very good photo quality for its class; comfortable, relatively streamlined shooting design. THE BAD: Relatively slow raw shooting. THE BOTTOM LINE: The Coolpix P7000 is a fine camera that lots of enthusiasts will appreciate for its smart shooting design, interesting feature set, and worthy photo quality.

DCRP Review: Nikon P7000

Review : The Nikon Coolpix P7000 is a feature-packed camera that produces good quality photos and HD videos. The problem is that you spend too much time waiting, and not enough time taking pictures. In photography, timing is everything, and having to wait for menus to appear can cost you a shot. I would be more forgiving if the P7000 was a $199 camera, but it costs 2.5 times more than that. It's definitely worth looking at, considering all it has to offer, but you should absolutely, positively try one out to see if you can deal with its sluggishness.

Nikon CoolPix P7000

by productwiki.com Monday, January 01, 0001
Review : The Nikon CoolPix P7000 is a high-end compact camera released in September 2010 as a successor to the P6000. It drops to a 10.1MP CCD sensor (versus 13.5MP) and trades away LAN connectivity and GPS functionality, but hosts a wider f/2.8-5.6 zoom range, an improved 7.1x optical zoom, a larger 3" TFT LCD monitor, and an HDMI mini connector. The previously mentioned downgrades are considered by critics to be a fair trade for the gains introduced—including an electronic spirit level, an additional control dial, and more customization options. They say the P7000 has manual controls for virtually ever setting, not to mention RAW support, a 720p/24 movie mode, and an optical viewfinder and accessory hot shoe. Features High-End Compact Camera 10.1MP, 1/1.7" CCD Sensor 7.1 Wide-Angle Optical Zoom Lens 5-Way VR Image Stabilization System RAW File Function (Windows AND Mac Compatibility) 3" Ultra-High Resolution Clear Color Display Large Optical Viewfinder w/Diopter ... PROS: (1) mechanical optical image stabilization (2) built-in neutral density (ND) filter (3) Zoom Memory function - allows you to switch to a standard zoom length (28mm, 35mm, 50mm, 105mm, etc...) (4) records to easy to find, affordable and capacious SD/SDHC/SDXC storage cards (5) great for macro shots - focus up to 2cm from the subject ... CONS: (1) thicker and heavier than the model it replaces (P6000) (2) slow RAW processing speeds, camera locks up entirely (3) slow RAW continuous shooting - 1 fps up to 5 frames (4) fairly chunky and unattractive for the majority of consumers (5) not a tilt/swivel display

Nikon Coolpix P7000 Review

by Imaging Resource Monday, January 01, 0001
Review : Re-entering the enthusiast digital camera market with a vengeance, the Nikon P7000 takes its largest rival head-on. The new camera's design leaves little guessing over which major rival they're taking on with the Nikon P7000, but as is often the case in industrial design, few other forms would work as well. Though the Nikon P7000 lacks the Canon G12's swiveling LCD, it has a longer 7x zoom and a higher-resolution, 921,000 dot LCD. Sensor size is identical, though, at 10 megapixels, and the emphasis on plentiful external controls is also obvious. Photographer-favorite features like the Shutter speed, ISO, and White balance Bracketing feature show the Nikon P7000's target market, and the Virtual horizon indicator makes it easier to level the camera for fewer crooked horizon lines. We ran into a few issues with the Nikon P7000's focus and speed, though, so you'll want to read our review for the whole story. Click below for more on the Nikon Coolpix P7000 digital camera!

Nikon Coolpix P7000 Review

Review : Nikon have been closely competing with Canon in the DSLR arena for many years, but they've always come second-best (or worse) in the compact camera market. The new Coolpix P7000 is a clear attempt to redress that balance, with a completely revised design that is aiming for the jugular of the market-leading Canon PowerShot G-series.
