The Panasonic DMP-BDT310 is a mid-cost full HD 3D Blu-Ray player. This Blu-Ray player has WiFi built in, allowing you to access VIERA CAST, Panasonic’s internet platform. VIERA CAST allows you access to content sites like Amazon VOD, Twitter, YouTube and Netflix, as well as Skype (though you need to purchase an optional camera to get face-to-face chatting). There is a devoted Skype button on this Blu-Ray players remote control. The DMP-BDT310s UniPhier chip helps to improve picture quality, and also lowers power consumption. The Adaptive Chroma Processing makes details and nuances in movie scenes come out with clarity. The vertical color reference process has been increased 1.5 times from previous models. The DMP-BDT310s 2D-3D Conversion feature can convert 2D images from DVDs and Blu-ray discs into 3D, with natural depth perception. The 3D Effect Controller allows you to control the leaping effects of 3D images, as well as adjust the ... PROS: (1) menu system is well laid out, everything is a few button presses away (2) lots of Internet options, good variety of content available (3) low profile build, doesnt take up much room on the shelf (4) reads discs and starts playing very quickly ... CONS: (1) burning a firmware upgrade disc is very tricky, needs to be done exactly right or nothing happens (2) changing the Netflix login info, once set up, is harder than it should be (3) lacks any on-board storage, need to have an SD card to view online Blu-ray content
