This exciting zoom lens provides ultra wide-angle coverage to the EOS 20D, 30D, 40D, 50D and Digital Rebel SLRs. Equivalent to a 16-35mm zoom, it offers excellent performance and optics designed from the ground-up for digital SLR use. Three Aspherical lens elements, plus a Super-UD element, assure image quality. Its ring-type USM means fast and silent AF along with full-time manual focus. It focuses as close as 9.5 inches.

The Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM is a compact wide-angle lens built for the EOS 20D, 30D, 40D, 50D and Digital Rebel SLRs. The lens operates like the equivalent of a 16-35mm zoom, with the added ability to close-focus to 9.5 inches allowing subjects as small as 3.6 x 5.4 inches to fill the frame. Autofocus is fast and efficient, and focus can also be adjusted manually using a ring cam. Since the focusing system is internal, the lens does not need to extend when zooming. The circular aperture design allows for natural highlights, creating properly backlit effects even at two stops. Apertures, when set manually, will still stay constant from f/4.5 though to f/22. PROS: (1) ideal for indoor settings or working in tight groups as you can be fairly close and get everyone in the shot (2) ideal for outdoor wide-angled shots, catches an extremely wide view (3) generally a very sharp image every time (4) no light flaring or chromatic aberration (5) motor is extremely quiet and in most settings you usually wont hear it ... CONS: (1) too short even at max length to work in all settings, cant do everything (2) a bit of softening in the corners at 10mm
