The Canon EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS is an affordable compact lens with a wide magnification range. This lens is similar to the Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS, but offers an even wider focal length range. The natural focal length of 18-200mm is the equivalent of 29-320mm in 35mm format due to the internal lens construction, which allows users to take wide angle shots as well as telephoto style shots. An Optical Image Stabilizer accounts for enough movement to allow up to 4-stops lower with the same clarity, even at full zoom. A circular aperture is used to naturally blur the background, bringing the subject into sharp focus by contrast. Focus adjustment is handled by a gear-driven DC motor, and 72mm filters can be attached.
