Review :
The Acer GD235HZ is a 23” high-definition display monitor featuring a full 1080p resolution and specially designed for 3D aficionados. When combined with Nvidia’s 3D Vision active shutter glasses, the GD235HZ functions as a full 3D display. This means users can fully immerse themselves in their 3D games and movies. Included also is an HDMI port (with HDCP compliance) for using the screen as a television. The one area in which the GD235HZ is severely lacking is audio, as it includes no speakers whatsoever. Additional features include support for both a Kensington Lock Slot and VESA wall mounting. Additional Information To utilize the GD235HZ’s 3D function, users must purchase the Nvidia 3D Vision active shutter glasses and a compatible Nvidia graphics card. Features 23” HD Monitor Full 3D Display 1080p Resolution VGA/DVI Connectivity HDMI w/HDCP Kensington Lock Slot (Ready) VESA Wall Mount (Ready) 3 Year Warranty Specifications Size: 23.6” TFT LCD ... PROS: (1) more affordable than the direct competition (2) full 1080p resolution (3) HDMI input with HDCP compliance (4) 120Hz refresh rate - updates each pixel twice as fast as regular 60Hz monitors, while this doesnt mean transitions take less time it does improve response time, reducing motion blur and keeping the user up-to-date (5) TN panel - low input lag, low pixel response time ... CONS: (1) you need to buy Nvidias $199 3D vision kit + Nvidia card (not compatible with ATI) for 3D (2) high price for a 2" TN based display (3) true cost is ~$600 (w/ compatible 3D glasses) (4) designed for gaming, poor for regular everyday use due to high cost for a regular TN display - poor viewing angles and colour depth
