Garmin nuvi 465LMT is a GPS unit designed specifically for truck drivers that frequently need to cross the border. It includes free lifetime map and traffic updates, ensuring years of usefulness. The NTTS Breakdown Directory is also included in case of emergency, directing the driver to the nearest facility for quick repairs. Information is displayed on a 4.3 inch high-resolution touchscreen display that also provides direct access to the units menu functions. Street-level maps of the US, Canada and Puerto Rico are available, and turn-by-turn directions can take into account truck-related restrictions for various roads. Hands-free calling is also supported with Bluetooth-enabled phones. PROS: (1) Automatic night/day interface adjustments are subtle but effective - helps truckers and other freight workers keep track of time zone adjustment (2) Wide variety of vehicle profiles further increases realism - most major car and truck types are offered, with a selectable palette for colors (3) Speed limit function helps to remind drivers of truck speeds in different areas - ideal for long-distance freighters who are frequently switching between states/provinces ... CONS: (1) Volume outputting is fairly low - spoken directions may be difficult to hear when travelling at faster speeds, and especially while listening to the radio (2) Adding custom POIs is very difficult - specifying and adjusting a given area is virtually impossible to accomplish on the unit, and must be completed with a computer interface (3) Straying from a given route may prompt crashing - users may have to wait until a detour is offered or manually adjust destination to avoid involuntary rebooting (4) Not recommended for car owners - model is pre-loaded with truck-specific data, including restricted areas and POIs (truck stops, weigh stations, etc.) (5) Doesnt include familiar Garmin suction cup attachment - many users will be forced to purchase an official or third-party attachment separately
