The Sony NSZ-GT1 is an Internet-capable, Blu-ray Disc player with Android-based Google TV functionality built-in. Designed to merge TV and Internet content into one convenient interface, the player features pre-installed apps for streaming Netflix/YouTube, listening to Web radio, and even using Twitter or Facebook. Missing however is any support for 3D. Nevertheless, the device hosts a Dish DVR interface, 8GB of storage, Wi-Fi connectivity, and support of full HD video playback in addition to DVD 720p to 1080p upscaling. And it comes with a QWERTY remote featuring an integrated optical mouse for navigating content and typing in search terms. Later in 2011 access to the Android Market and the ability to link to select mobile phones was also added.
