The JVC SR-HD1500 is one of two Blu-ray / Hard-Drive combo recorder decks announced by JVC at the 2009 CEDIA EXPO. As an upgrade from the SR-HD1250, it features double the memory: 500GB. Like its weaker peer, it’s engineered for easy disc-duplication and disc-authoring without a PC. The unit can in fact record AND author professional BDMV or BDAV discs. Included also is MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 (h.264) encoding for accessing both HD and SD sources; a built-in downconverter that allows HD content to be recorded on a standard DVD; and up to 250GB of internal storage space. Note that the SR-HD1500 isn’t made for recording television content; instead, it captures content from camcorders and/or similar devices. And after capturing content, users can utilize the unit’s easy-to-operate menu interface to edit and assemble clips into a completed project. Features Blu-Ray / HD Combo BDMV/BDAV Disc Duplication/Authoring MPEG-2 / MPEG-4 Encoding Built-In Downconverter ...
