THE GOOD: The Panasonic TC-PST30 has excellent overall picture quality, with deep black levels, accurate color, and solid video processing. It can handle 1080p/24 sources well and exhibits the nearly perfect screen uniformity of plasma, as well as solid 3D picture quality. Its Internet suite is simple to use yet content-rich, and it includes a Wi-Fi dongle. THE BAD: The chunky ST30 seems dated by todays flat-panel TV design standards. Picture quality flaws include limited brightness--a liability especially in bright rooms--and less-saturated color in its most accurate picture mode. The ST30 has fewer picture controls than the competition, doesnt include 3D glasses, and uses significantly more power than LCD TVs. THE BOTTOM LINE: If you can live with its homely design, the excellent picture quality and feature set of the Panasonic TC-PST30 series combine to make it one of the best plasma TV values available.

The fifty-five inch display of the VIERA TC-P55ST30 is equipped with an Infinite Black 2 Panel. This panel raises the luminous efficiency while minimizing pre-discharge, making for subtle blacks in both dim and well-lit environments. The VIERA TC-P55ST30 is Skype-ready, though you need to purchase the camera as an add-on to get face-to-face online chatting. This TV is equipped with the VIERA Link feature, which allows you to put all your VIERA Link devices together and control them from the same remote. This TVs 3D VIERA Image Viewer allows you to view JPEG 2D digital still images, 3D digital still images, and 2D/3D HD video with clarity. The 600Hz Sub-field Drive helps to ensure that fast action scenes ... PROS: (1) attractive bezel design, simple and under-stated without being too monoloithic (2) setup is very simple, even the online setup was user-friendly (3) controls are simple and straight-forward, very little learning curve (4) large range of file types compatible for playback through the USB ports (5) color resolution is fantastic, very true-to-life with deep blacks and pure whites ... CONS: (1) audio is poor, tinny in certain ranges and needs to be turned up to hear actors (2) need to be mindful of windows, reflects light with a mirror-like gloss
