Equipped with a 4.3-inch anti-glare color touchscreen, this model includes free lifetime map updates that can be downloaded from Garmins website once every quarter. This ensures the most up-to-date locational information relating to new streets, houses and businesses within the continental US as well as Canada and Mexico. Voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions are provided via "City Navigator" technology, with over six million "Points Of Interest" that can be specified at the users discretion. Two and three-dimensional maps are available with shaded contours in the latter for simulated elevation levels, all of which with full zooming support for optimal locational gauging. "HotFix" satellite technology is also included to provide the most accurate positioning possible, with a predictive function that takes over when the unit loses signal strength.
