The Garmin nuvi 2450LM is a mid-range car GPS unit. This is similar to the Garmin nuvi 2450 base model, but includes lifetime map updates to ensure that the unit is up to date. The 5 inch touchscreen display shows information in a 480x272 resolution, and displays a map of the surrounding area as well as providing access to the systems functions. Turn by turn directions are provided through voice prompts, and notice is given of which lane is the best to be in. The system also takes into account live traffic information, and can re-route directions based on detours the driver takes. Alternate routes for fuel efficiency can also be used. Features Dimensions (W x H x D): 5.4 x 3.3 x 0.6 in, 13.7 x 8.3 x 1.5 cm 5 in Display, 480 x 272 pixels Rechargeable lithium-ion, up to 3 hours Includes lifetime map updates Voice prompts, Speaks ... PROS: (1) large screen makes everything easy to read at a glance (2) good number of route options to suit personal preference (3) auto-zooms the view in accordance with your speed, allows you to see whats coming better (4) makes it very clear when turns are coming up, gives you lots of notice ... CONS: (1) takes a long time to calculate new routes (2) graphics and refresh rates are fairly slow, takes some time to catch up to you when youve gone around a corner (3) general graphics rendering is a little jagged and low-resolution
